Lazy Afternoon - the Roots

So a lot has happened the past few weeks; My courses started, met the French students, went to the French Alps for two days, met my roommate, found myself and the other 2 girls from RBS dancing on the bar; around a pole, celebrated 2 birthdays of a German and a Mexican girl, been to the park ‘picknicking’ for a few times, saw cow-brains (!) in the supermarket (yes got a picture of that), went to the movies and did some sightseeing around town.

Kay so that’s a short short summary of what I’ve been up to lately. I’m sorry that I did not take the time to write anything the past few weeks.

Today is Saturday; I did totally nothing today. Which feels great! This morning I got up around 11, took a shower for an hour or so. Had my petit dejeuner (deux croissants with confiture and camembert (which is not typically the French style; as they only eat sweet stuff in the morning) But it was good!

Then I did some groceries at the Lidl, got in to bed and read the rest of the day. I’m reading a hilarious chick-lit book of Marian Keyes; normally I’m not too fond of that type of books but I needed something light and funny to read.
Just had dinner and I’m about to leave the house and meet some friends for a drink somewhere downtown. Don’t feel much like clubbing so prob I’ll be back around midnight; as there’s no public transportation after midnight.

I still need to sort all those damn pictures out; so I haven’t uploaded them yet. I’ll try to make time for it soon.

Welcome to my Blog

Ehm.. OK so after two, no three threats of the Griffith family and Bri; I guess I now have no other choice than to start ‘blogging’…
I still need to figure out how it works exactly and where I can put all my pictures online…I have no clue.. help me out here please (David? Brian?) hahaha

So I’ve been quite busy settling in the last week, taking French classes and sightseeing etc etc. Have been to the Cote d’Azur a week ago; which was great! The weather was really good. Me and Yulia took a lot of pictures. (No worries; they’ll be online soon this week)
St. Tropez & St. Raphael was beautiful, but I really liked Cannes! Because it had more like a city feeling to it I guess. But geezz tourists everywhere!! I could hear Dutch all around me! So weird.

Today I visited ‘Parc Tete d’Or’ with some co-students from IDRAC. Its a huge park in the north of the city. I walked (!) from the appartment, which is located in the south between the rivers ‘Saone’ and the ‘Rhone’. I think it took me about one and a half hour. It was a nice walk, took some pictures as well.

On my way to the park I met an American woman that is in France for business. She was trying to take a picture of herself, which looked kinda funny, so when I saw her I decided to make one for her. We started talking and she kept me company for half an hour or so. We talked about traveling/differences in the States and Europe. She also gave me a few tips about where to go and such, which was kind of her.

When I arrived the park everyone was already there for an hour or so. (Hey! I walked!) We played cards, listened to music, read and some of us where just relaxing/sleeping in the sun. Oh! And I learned how to play poker! Yay! I always wanted to know how to play poker. The guys are going to buy chips tomorrow and organize poker-nights. (probably its going to be all guys that are going to play.. but I’ll manage hehe)

Anyway, so thats what I did today. I just got home from the parc. We are going to meet up for dinner in an hour, so I need to get ready!

Wow! So this was my first blog! Hoped you enjoyed reading it..I’ll try to write something every week. Pictures coming up soon!! promise!

Xx
